I also vary the threshold manually up and down on the fly to set it as high as possible without getting too many of these false detects. If the repair being suggested lines up with the start of a music transient (drum beat or whatever), then I reject the fix. Then I look at the upper display that shows the music. Your STM32F4 microcontroller does not physically have 0x200000 (2 MB) of RAM. Goldwave software for transfers and Click Repair for cleaning up WAV. Check the memory map section of the datasheet. On those, I set the click repair to process automatically until a certain number of bits (like 40 or 50 bits) are targeted for repair in a detected click. the sites I use recommend anything over 128kbps,and some even suggest 96kbps. Even those who have access to specialized CD burning. From there, the process is as simple as uploading the images, clicking 'repair' and waiting for the software to complete the repair. On some albums I can't find a setting that eliminates most of the clicks and pops while still not attacking the music transients. ClickRepair offers an online interface that allows users with a mac compatible computer to submit their music for repair using their ClickRecover CD Images. Its nice software that works well but theres no guarantee that it will work in the near future. If there is anything other than random noise present, you know the Click Repair threshold setting is too high. And to open the application for macOS Big Sur you have to 1) Show Package Contents for the ClickRepair.app file, and 2) open the ClickRepair.jar file with JavaLauncher. Examining that or playing it will show if there is "noise" that follows the rythm or beat of the music. This leaves a track of just the changes that Click Repair made. Note that ClickRepair is not a vinyl audio capture tool - it can only help improve recordings once you've got the audio saved onto hard disk. To make sure it is not affecting the music, I use an editing program (I use Goldwave, but Audacity or anything like that will work) to invert the Click Repair processed file and the subtract it from (mix) the original file. ClickRepair is a small application that tries to help you restore the sound archived from old records made from either vinyl or shellac. I will first try to process the album in automatic mode, looking for a setting that removes the majority of the clicks but does not attack the actual music. ![]()
